IACA reviews the application, assigns assessment resources, conducts assessment activities, and makes an independent decision based on evidence.<\/p><ul><li>Application and scope review.<\/li><li>Document review and assessment planning.<\/li><li>On-site, remote, or witnessed assessment as applicable.<\/li><li>Nonconformity response and corrective action review.<\/li><li>Independent accreditation decision and certificate issue where approved.<\/li><\/ul><h2>Assessment activities<\/h2><p>Assessment activities may include document review, interviews, record sampling, witnessing of technical work, review of equipment and facilities, and confirmation of reporting practices.<\/p><ul><li>Assessment plan and opening meeting.<\/li><li>Technical and management system evaluation.<\/li><li>Closing meeting and reporting of findings.<\/li><\/ul><h2>After accreditation<\/h2><p>Accredited bodies remain responsible for continuing compliance.
