TRANSPARENCY

IACAAB supports confidence in accreditation through clear requirements, impartial decisions and access to reliable information about accreditation services and accredited scopes.

Our transparency commitments

  • Publish clear information about accreditation programs, criteria and application steps.
  • Apply requirements consistently to organizations within the same program and scope.
  • Protect confidentiality while communicating information that must be publicly available.
  • Manage conflicts of interest and safeguard impartial accreditation decisions.
  • Provide channels for complaints, appeals and requests for clarification.

Information available to users

Users of accredited results should be able to understand what an accreditation claim covers. Verify the accreditation body, organization, certificate status, location, standard and detailed scope before relying on a report, certificate or inspection result.

Accredited organization responsibilities

Accredited organizations must represent their status accurately, use the accreditation symbol and claims only within the approved scope, keep certificates and public information current, and notify IACAAB of significant changes that may affect conformity.

Confidentiality and personal information

Information received during application, assessment and surveillance is handled according to applicable IACAAB procedures. Public disclosure is limited to information that is authorized, required for accreditation confidence, or required by applicable law.

Complaints and appeals

Any interested party may raise a documented concern about an accreditation activity or a published accreditation claim. Organizations affected by an accreditation decision may use the formal appeal process. Submissions should identify the issue, relevant evidence and requested outcome.
